Albert Abbott was the son of Broughton and Eliza Abbott, née Garner and brother of Private Broughton Abbott (2397) (q.v.). Their father was born at Barnoldswick, Yorkshire and mother at Stamford, Lincolnshire. Their sister, Ada, was married to Private Charles Ogden (32138) (q.v.).
